I have been a patient of Dr. Goodmark for over 30 of my 40 years of life. Most recently I began to experience pain in my left shoulder that was rather extreme and was not allowing me to sleep. Before waiting for the problem to get worse I went into see Dr. Goodmark. After taking time to learn about my issue and it’s main consequence -it not allowing me to sleep – he began treating me. Thanks be to heaven after the first Chiropractic Adjustment/Manipulation he gave me I began to feel some relief. Within a short period of time I was well back on the path to pain free living. Speaking of Chiropractic Adjustments/Manipulations, I understand that this can sometimes be an area of concern/confusion/mystery of the unknown for those that have never experienced it before. Let me assure Dr. Goodmark is not a “cracker”; his adjustments are done in a very controlled and comfortable manner using a hand held tool to gently aid in the re-alignment of your spinal column. Thus allowing your body to work at its optimum level of performance and do what it does best – care and heal itself. After learning the hard way I have become a regular monthly patient of Dr. Goodmark’s, to help ensure my whole body is operating at its highest potential. I think of it this way it is like changing the Oil on your car, you can can drive it to be serviced as preventative maintenance to help ensure continuing top performance or you can wait till your engine seizes and then get towed in for service. Dr Goodmark saved my ski trip. I had hurt my back terribly from a simple cough. After a week of pain I met with Dr Goodmark and let him know my goal was to ski with my family in two weeks. Sure enough his adjustments and manipulations got me on the mountain pain free. Dr Gary and I went to Chiro school together but had lost touch with each other over the years. Last month we reconnected at a continuing education seminar. I told him about the frozen shoulder I had been hampered with for almost two years, also I had plantar fascitis for even longer. i had saught treatment from a number of other DC’s, a physical therapist and an orthopedist . He offered to perform some specialized work he had been doing for a number of years. I had immediate on the spot improvement in my shoulder. i was very impressed! When I first met Dr. Goodmark, I could not stand up straight or walk a significant distance without severe lower back pain due to two herniated discs. I had been getting epidural shots for years, but the pain would return within a year or so — even less if I was moderately active. Eventually I was told by the pain management doctors that I needed to start thinking about surgery. Dr. Goodmark looked at my MRI report, said “I’ve seen worse”, and then assured me that not only would I be upright and feeling good relatively soon, but that he would have me back on the golf course within a month. I have to admit that I was extremely skeptical. Not only did I doubt that I would be walking upright and feeling good any time soon, but I was considering giving up golf altogether for fear of reinjuring myself. After one month of treatment, as promised, I was completely pain free. It was only out of fear of undoing all of Dr. Goodmark’s hard work that I did not attempt to play golf at the one month mark despite the fact that I felt fine and definitely could have done so. After another two weeks and some reassurance that I would be fine, I played my first round of golf since pondering the idea of giving up the game permanently. Again, as promised, I was fine. It has now been years since I started going to Dr. Goodmark and I can honestly say that my quality of life has improved exponentially. Not only did he resolve all of the issues with my lower back pain, but he also got me to a point where I was able to resume exercising without the fear of injuring myself. This allowed me to lose quite a bit of extra weight which, in turn, improved my lower back health even further. Dr. Gary Goodmark and his wife, Gail (the receptionist) are the nicest people I have ever met. They immediately make you feel at ease with their warm, caring and inviting personality. Their scheduling is perfect. I have never had to wait for more than 5 minutes for my son’s or my appointment. Dr. Goodmark checks up with you after your first few visits and is willing to come in during off hours if you need him. Additionally, Dr. Goodmark is a life long learner. He keeps up with all the latest facts and findings and continues to attend workshops to help his patients. My youngest son has been a patient of Dr. Goodmark for over 4 years. He has had several sports related injuries. We tried orthopedic doctors for various reasons, but he never got the relief he needed from his sore, knotted muscles, tight hamstring or pinched nerves. Each time he has been seen by Dr. Goodmark, he walked out feeling 90-100% better, depending on the injury. My older son started experiencing back pain, even though he faithfully wears his orthotics. He went to Dr. Goodmark and immediately felt a difference. He continues to see Dr. Goodmark for check ups, when needed. Now I started seeing Dr. Goodmark. I woke up one morning and had pain in my shoulder and neck. I could only lift my arm to a 45 degree angle. After 3 visits, I no longer felt that pain and can raise my arm completely without any hesitation or pain. Now, I am seeing Dr. Goodmark for my knees. I have had arthoscopic surgery for torn meniscus in both knees and have arthritis in both too. I went through physical therapy, regularly exercising and receiving gel injections every 6 months, but continue to find it difficult to walk after standing or sitting for short periods of time. After 4 visits with Dr. Goodmark, I can start to see improvement. I am not wobbly when I first get up and I don’t feel the sharp pain under my kneecap.
